Hangi

I am so proud of the amazing room 15 for the outstanding efforts toward the hangi!!!! Nobody would have eaten without the help of rm 15 and 14!! You guys are super stars !!!

Harakeke

While Whaea Geri ( our student teacher ) was here, we learnt about Harakeke ( Harakeke is a Maori word for flax .) She brought in a small bag and a big bag made of flax. Here they are....

We got taught about the flax, how it grows, where the family is placed, how they are a family and how they could be deadly. Please say your prayer before you cut a flax... This might help

E Tane
Tenei matou inoi atu nei ki a koe
Mo au mokopuna
Amine

The flax by itself can be very deadly, make sure you wash your hands before you eat or go and play. After you have cut the flax, it is also important to make sure you scrub your hands ( or whatever the sap has touched ) clean

Here are some photos of the flax we drew ... ... ...
